If you signed up for me to write your rec letter and are on the yes list or one of the first 5 on the waitlist-- READ THIS!!
First, you need to withdraw yourself if applicable -- please dont make me embarrass you. I love you all but take rec letters very seriously. Reasons to withdraw yourself are -- but are not limited to -- you have been caught cheating -- are habitually late---argumentative--skip--disrupt-- late with work or don't do your work-- show disrespect-- if you simply dont behave in class...
THINK ABOUT THIS -- there are other teachers you can ask, so dont freak out--just be realistic.
IF YOU BELIEVE YOU SHOULD REMAIN ON MY LIST -- you need to buy a folder -- one of the cheap cardboardy one with brads. No slick and shinyness -- old school--color doesnt matter. In that folder put a cheat sheet for me... Model it on the one in the photo-- I dont care what other teachers or counselors want--this is what I want -- by May 10th. You may add categories like jobs, languages, etc . If you miss the deadline or dont do as asked, I give your spot to someone on the waitlist. I write letters over the summer. Your summer job is to get your applications in and get FULLY signed up in Naviance, Apply Texas, Common App, etc. Talk to your counselor before school lets out if you are confused.
In the fall--by September 4th, I will need your list of colleges, letter due dates, and what format each requires-- PLUS any forms or stamped envelopes needed -- I will add this to your folder. Most schools want online now, but a few still want paper letters. Again, if you miss this deadline or dont do as asked, I give your spot to someone on the waitlist.
This matters-- give it your attention and time. Any questions or concerns? See me one on one
